Employing 250+ seasonal workers each year we hand pick the fruit and pack it ready for the UK supermarkets in our own packhouse facility. We have a campsite facilty housing the seasonal staff and the position we are seeking is for a campsite assistant to ensure the smooth running of the campsite and to look after the health and safety and welfare of the residents.
The position would require the person to be on call in the evenings and night and do some limited day time work if hours permit. The campsite warden would be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the campsite and that campsite rules are observed. If required during the daytime the campsite warden would drive the workers into the local town to use the amenities. Maintenance of the campsite would also be the warden's responsibility.
Skills:
- The candidate must have a good work ethic and the integrity to treat all workers equally and fairly, but also able to discipline where necessary.
- An awareness of other cultures and nationalities is key as the majority of staff are migrant workers.
- A strong practical ability is necessary for general maintenance work around the campsite.
- A full driving licence is required. A D1 Mini-bus licence would be an asset.
Farm will consider a couple and will provide picking and/or packing work for partner. This work will be based on UK AWB minimum wage rates.
