Lead Translator

Working with John, founder of Madventurer, and all the students from the University of Hertfordshire was a phenomenal experience! As the Spanish-English translator I was able to help bridge that gap between the locals and the volunteers. This trip has been a huge highlight in my life thus far and would encourage anyone considering Madventurer to DO IT!!!

Volunteering in a rural community in Peru

I volunteered with Madventurer and found the whole process simple and well organised. The support from the staff was excellent, partially John and Mary. We had a translator with us as well so the language was never a barrier.

I volunteered in a very rural community in Huaraz, Peru where my team and I helped construct a water reservoir tank. We also taught English in the primary school where we were staying. By the end of our 3 week project, I felt as though I had made a real difference to people's lives and was so glad I could help a community in this way. The locals were extremely grateful and very humble people.

I also had a lot of take away from this experience such as working collectively, having more empathy and also opening my eyes to people's way of life. Ultimately it also looks excellent on any CV and is a great talking point when it comes to employment.

I would really recommend Madventurer based on this great positive experience I've had with them :)
