Medforce Trauma and Expedition Medic Course
Spend a week learning the completely unique style of expedition medicine from the best in the industry! Learn the proper roles and opportunities, how to survive in dangerous environments and water related medicine. Learn how to make casualty assessments and how to handle catastrophic haemorrhaging, breathing & circulation using only the resources the environment provides. Learn teamwork and evacuation strategies as well as fracture handling and prolonged field care—everything you need to become a successful medic in the wild!
Jungle Survival Training & Trek
Get to know the jungle environment! Learn basic jungle navigation, fire lighting, basha set up, evacuations, jungle observations, flora and fauna and jungle movement! Learn search and rescue methods as well as how to use a machete to go alongside your new wilderness medical skills.
Rescue Training
Participate in an intense week of rescue response training with the Belize Disaster and Rescue Response Team! Test out your new skills and gain new ones such as medical techniques required for remote rescues and the technical skills that go alongside them such as knot tying, creating harnesses and rigging systems, kit improvisation and more! After a week with BDARRT, you'll be able to take on any situation!
Optional Modern Clinic & Beach Chill Out
Looking to relax? After your month in the jungle, head to San Pedro for two weeks. Volunteer at a local medical clinic where you can shadow and support doctors and treat patients suitable to your level of training. In your free time, enjoy touring the beautiful area and learn to scuba dive!
