Our eco friendly facility focus on Human Capital Development by initiate Training, Development and services for National and International consumers based on the current and future demands.

Background:

In 2016 my family purchased 66 Acres of neglected tea estate in Sri Lanka including more than 40 Acres of verging rainforest.

After a comprehensive research and a development plan, with in past two and half years this resource hub was converted in to a unique bio diversity hot spot to attractive training and development center for community converging on the current and future global requirements. In operational basis we upgraded this facility to a leisure & adventure segments including fully fledged accommodation facilities.

We initiated operations in the above property in early this year and currently inviting all relevant parties including the academia communities in National, Regional & Global levels.

Sri Lanka being a leading bio diversity island nation with more than twenty-five hundred civilized written history and out of many, eight sites have been inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage.

The property (Mount K Resort-  Adventure Auto Road) is located closer to Rakwana (A notable center of Ceylon tea plantations and industry and gem resources) and it contains a unique spectacular view expanded to the Great Rakwana Mountain Range (In vicinity of Sinharaja  – World Heritage on Tropical Rain forest).

Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a national park and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

According to International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Sinharaja is the country's last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. More than 60% of the trees are endemic and many of them are considered rare. There is much endemic wildlife, especially birds, but the reserve is also home to over 50% of Sri Lanka's endemic species of mammals and butterflies, as well as many kinds of insects, reptiles and rare amphibians.

There are about 217 endemic plants are found in Sri Lanka and about 140 plant species are located in Sinharaja Forest Reserve. Sri Lanka is home to 26 endemic bird species and seven of them are proposed to be endemic species. The total number of bird species recorded in the island is 492 of which 219 are breeding residents. Bird Life International recognize Sri Lanka as one of the world's Endemic Bird Areas (EBAs).

Due to this unique and valuable factor, I planned to initiate the conservation center and ecology educational and research facility inside the Mount k property. Initial  discussion and preliminary research activities and baseline survey  has been carried out with young Zoologist Association of Sri Lanka and another ecological team who is in the practical implementation in Sri Lanka.

According to the basic observations, indicates that there  are more than 70% of same plant species available (same as  Sinharaja Forest Reserve) inside at the Mount K Resort Nature forest reserve. Also, the property is enriched with different birds and other species including the rare butterflies.

Therefore, this recently initiated and developed property is a better combination for education and research activities to the academics’ and practitioners. Our property has been facilitated with accommodation, food, training, recreational and other necessary amenities.

If your academic students or any researchers are interested in conducting any community Development,  Environment / Ecology / Forest Ecology Study or Research, we happy to accommodate your request.

It is much appreciated, if you could write to us with your interested area and we can provide more specific details and arrangements based on your requirements.
