Mykonos Animal Welfare is a legal charity that was formed in 2005 by a group of local Greeks and resident foreigners.
Our main objectives are sterilizations, emergency vet care and rehoming of abandoned cats and dogs. We are working closely with our three local vets.
In the last ten years we have sterilized and helped thousands of animals and although we mostly help stray cats and dogs we also help whenever possible pelicans, birds, reptiles, ducks, owls, snakes, donkeys and horses.
We always need more local help as there is so much work. We do not have a shelter. We do have the full support of the Town Hall and the Mayor Konstantinos Koukas who are financing a program that covers many sterilizations, medical expenses and will hopefully in the very near future be able to also provide a legal shelter, vehicle and worker to support our efforts.
