NatureBureau wishes appoint an enthusiastic, confident and highly motivated Senior Terrestrial Ecologist to join our small team in Newbury, Berkshire.
They will manage, develop and promote ecology projects undertaken by NatureBureau in the UK and Europe. The successful candidate will have an existing network of contacts in the area and will be able to identify and actively develop new business opportunities and maximise resources within the business. They will be entrepreneurial, commercially aware and have significant previous experience.
Applicants should have excellent knowledge of UK/EU biodiversity and conservation issues, funding opportunities and the market for consultancy services, and experience/knowledge of the following areas:
* Seeking out new projects and tender management, including EU funded projects
* Overseeing the design and implementation of ecology projects
* Preparation of site management plans
* The UK Biodiversity Action Plan process
* UK, EU and international environmental policy
They will also have sound project management and communication skills to enable them to plan and manage projects and budgets. Competency with a range of standard computer software is essential and experience of GIS is also desirable, as is full/associate membership of IEEM. They will need a flexible and proactive approach to meet the challenges presented by developing business in a rapidly changing industry. Fluency in one or more European languages would be an advantage.
