OIKOS were an Italian no-profit volunteering organization, working internationally on environmental problems in big cities and on defense and reintegration of woods, especially Mediterranean ones.
The Oikos is a voluntary association founded in 1979.
Oikos dealed with problems related to the conservation of forest heritage, research in the psychological field in close connection with the evolution of social systems, issues related to the world of young people. The experience of volunteer camps is part of an international exchange program started in 1980 is not the main part of the activity.
Oikos have now stopped operating.
