Whether you are taking a gap year or a break at work and you have a love for horses then this is for you! At Out Of Africa Trails we give you the knowledge on the daily care of horses, the exciting experience of riding our beautiful scenic trails and the day to day training and exercising of the horses.
We are friendly, welcoming people – true to our South African nature! We want to share our passion and love for horses with YOU! Our horses are truly remarkable and they all have great personalities! This is the ideal holiday to have fun and make new friends whether it be horses or people.
Come for 4 weeks or more and go back feeling like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.
The working riding holidays will be based at Shepherd’s Fold Stables in Lanseria, Gauteng. You will be involved with the daily upkeep of the horses, exercising, lunging, schooling and fitness of the horses. You will assist with trail rides in the beautiful countryside as well as help out with lessons from beginners to advanced riders.
This package includes accommodation, some home cooked meals during week nights and breakfast will be provided in your cottage.
Working Riding Holidays are available all year round.
Sharing accommodation (minimum stay of 4 weeks):
- 4 weeks or longer
- Riders should be able to ride at an intermediate level & have a good foundation in flat work schooling.
- Weight limit 75kg
- Novice riders can be accommodated on request.
