Volunteer at South Africa's leading big cat sanctuary to help with their care. These animals were previously living in cruel captivity in zoos, or have been rescued from the canned hunting trade.
Volunteers are helpful in a variety of tasks, but are mainly responsible for monitoring the rescued animals, checking for any signs of stress, injury or other problems. In addition to this, volunteers help to make enrichments for the animals to enable them to use their brains as they would do in the wild. This keeps them stimulated and happy.
Volunteers live on site in a comfy volunteer bungalow. There are two twin bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen and a lovely living area. When you open your curtains in the morning, you may well see the lions pacing around or waking up themselves.
Your weekends are free for relaxation and exploring. There is a swimming pool on site at the sanctuary which you are welcome to use.
