Before you go, you’ll have an application form to fill out, a video chat, submit all your documents and then you’ll be on your way to Cambodia. All qualified applicants will fly into Phnom Penh International Airport (Pochentong International Airport) where you’ll be picked up.
Role
You’ll be based in an English language school during your TEFL experience in Phnom Penh and you’ll enjoy weekends off to sightsee. Most placements will involve teaching students with a range of ages and English ability from teens to mature learners, generally beginner to intermediate levels.
You can typically expect to teach up to 25 contact hours per week, plus some preparation time to lesson plan following the in-house curriculum. Your goal as an English teacher on this internship will be focused on conversational English practice. However, depending on demand you may also have the opportunity to teach English for hospitality or healthcare, business communications and public speaking classes. Whilst there is a syllabus to follow, you’ll be able to ask advice from local teaching colleagues to assist with any help that you need.
Ten teaching workshops are also included in your TEFL internship training in-country.
