Whether you start early or mid-year, you’ll hit the ground running with a comprehensive five day teacher’s orientation in Yangon. There, you’ll learn how to move with grace through this new culture—while on the job with colleagues and students or bargaining for teak in the local market.
Expect to teach ~25 hours weekdays, with the occasional Saturday commitment in the mix. Your mission is to improve students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, and you’ll have ~15 hours weekly to prepare your future lessons and activities.
Past placements have been located in Yangon, Mandalay, and Pyin Oo Lwi at language institutes and private schools. This is a great fit for TEFL teachers who adore working with younger students, as most placements match teachers with students aged three to 16.
Also don’t worry, you’re not on your own. Your co-teachers will help along the way. So what are you waiting for? Apply to become a TEFL intern in Myanmar today!
