Although the civil war in Cambodia has long since ended, its legacy continues to haunt this beautiful country; Cambodia remains one of Asia's poorest countries. Children remain particularly vulnerable.
We offer placements in day-care centres, kindergartens and care homes - these centres often receive children whose mother's need to go out to work for the day. The role of volunteers is to assist in the care of these children through early childhood development activities, basic education and activities such as arts-and-crafts and games. Volunteers will work towards targets set out in our Care Management Plan and will have access to a large database of useful resources and ideas for activities.
Volunteers also help with the day-to-day running of the centres - helping with meal times and ensuring a good level of basic hygiene.
