We believe that no one should pay to volunteer. So we offer free volunteer placement. We charge a reasonable fee for other services, such as accommodations, breakfast, and group adventures.
Rio Volunteer is an International Exchange and Travel Agency that specializes in receiving international volunteers, exchange students, and tourists who come to Rio de Janeiro to enjoy its natural beauty, exciting culture, and volunteer at one of our partner NGOs (non-governmental organizations).
Our team has over 15 years experience in volunteer work. We’re partnered with over 200 NGOs, offering volunteer opportunities in every area imaginable—from helping children to learn a musical instrument in one of Rio’s slums to clearing trails in the Tijuca National Forest.
What We Offer Volunteers and Tourists
We offer three levels of service or 'programs' for travelers with different needs.
- Free Volunteer Placement: This program includes a volunteer placement of choice, volunteer orientation, volunteer support, and more at no cost.
- Volunteer and Cultural Exchange: This program includes housing, breakfast, 24 hour support, Portuguese lessons, volunteer placement of choice, no hidden fees, and much more.
- Have Fun and Give Something Back: This 10 day program covers all of our guests’ needs, including all entrance fees for tourist sites such as Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer Statue, all transport, guides, tours, meals, accommodations, hikes, cultural outings, parties, volunteer placement, donations to NGOs, and more!
You can also create a personalized program - if you wish to alter any program, we allow you to choose new sites, events, and types of volunteer actions.
We also can focus a group's trip on a certain area of interest. Some examples of personalized programs are the Carnaval Program, Sports Program, and Dance Program.
