Volunteers are always needed. The school relies on volunteers from other countries to supplement the local teaching staff and bring new ideas, different perspectives and enthusiasm to the school.
Volunteers come from all over the world to teach classes, take sports and arts activities and most importantly, talk and play with the students who all miss their families. Those with teaching skills or experience working with young people are especially encouraged to volunteer. You are then asked to make their own way to the school via Calcutta , Delhi or Kathmandu and can stay for a maximum of two months because of visa regulations. There are many opportunities to travel in Sikkim and the surrounding area during your stay.
Volunteers live with families just near the school and all meals are provided free of charge. Rent is around £5 per month.
Being a part of this relaxed, simple and spiritual existence is a wonderful way to spend two months of your life. The reward of making a difference each and every day to these beautiful young people is something that volunteers never forget.
