By staying as a guest in one of our accommodations or by booking one of our activities, you help us raise the funds for our campaign.

If you are more of a hands-on type of person you can join us as a volunteer and help us to move the project further.

Activities

Deniyaya it the perfect starting point to explore the area of Sinharaja and of course, it's rainforest. Join us on a day trip or even on a night hike to see the nocturnal animals. If you are more into waterfalls, don't you worry we have plenty around here. For those with a bit more time to spare, check out our forest-camp option.

Day Trips
Take a hike through World Heritage Site Sinharaja. Breath the forest air, hear the music of mountain streams, birds, crickets and monkeys. Massive trees, slinging vines and animals to see. There are many unique animal species living here. We can't guarantee you to see them all, as it is not a zoo. So, which you see will always be a surprise. Will it be a millipede or a giant butterfly?

Night Trips
Hiking at night is a whole different experience and a new adventure. As soon as the sun is set, your visual sense goes down and your other senses are being put in a higher gear – especially smell and hearing. So that we will not miss out on any animals which start their day when everything is dark and deeply asleep, we will be armed with a flashlight.

Forest Camp
For the real adventures among you and for those who do not need comfort to enjoy nature, there are also campsites with wooden cabins to stay overnight in the rainforest. Dinner and breakfast cooked on the campfire, taking a nature bath in the river. This will give you for sure an earthly atmosphere.

Waterfalls
There are several waterfalls in the area. Many easy accessible by three-wheeler. Others also require a small hike from the road. Many times, it is possible to swim at a waterfall. Sri Lankans find the water very cold. But that is relative, compared to the very warm seawater at the coast.
