Our enormous work load is never completed, and we are always happy for more helping hands, pampering and comforting the animals in our care. Dozens of abandoned puppies, kittens and adult animals, mixed breeds and pedigrees, are waiting in our shelter for a warm, loving and responsible home. Behind each one is a long, sad story of abandonment and often trauma and abuse, too.
Volunteering
A pampering long walk, a caressing hand and a loving look given by the volunteers contribute so much to the welfare of the animals, to their attachment to people and to acquiring learning habits that make it easier to find them a home. The volunteers who arrive at the SPCA shelter in Tel Aviv mostly help to walk the dozens of dogs in the spacious yard and to pamper and play with the cats. Additionally, we would be happy to be helped by the skills of professionals.
Anyone interested in volunteering and is over the age of 14 is cordially invited to join us for our volunteer training days, which are regularly held on the SPCA premises at 159 Herzl Street in Tel Aviv every Tuesday at 4:00 pm. and every Thursday at 11:00 am. (There’s no need to book in advance; you can just show up!). After completing the training, you are welcome to come to the shelter during opening hours without advance notice. High-school students wishing to volunteer at the Society as part of their ‘personal commitment’ project are welcome to contact us.
Group volunteering (on a one-time basis)
Organized groups are welcome to come for a one-time voluntary activity hosted by the Society’s Humane Education Department (companies on a community contribution day, birthday parties with extra added-value, activities for children and teens etc.). The activities include a guided tour of the premises, a direct encounter with the animals and walking the dogs up for adoption.
