Core program areas are: Health, Education, Economic strengthening, Food security and Nutrition support, Environment activities and psychosocial support. Target Groups and individuals are: Children, Youths, Women, Adolescent girls, PWD, PLWHA to improve their public health and wellbeing. Approaches to reach out to them: Community based, School based, Centre based and health facility based and we work together with the local leaders.
MISSION: Empowering OVC and the Youth out of social marginalization, isolation and discrimination through health and nutrition improvement, income generating initiatives, formal education with basic vocational skills and environment management. VISION: To actively contribute to the social and economic development of the communities in which we operate and to be an organization that continually respond to the changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge, towards development of sustainable society that promote and protects the equality, social justice and Human Rights for all.
Objectives and aims
To improve knowledge of the beneficiaries in practical skills and education that can make them entrepreneurs as well as empowering the youth who have got little or no chance of formal education with basic technical/vocational skills
To improve and promote health and food security in OVC households. To increase general awareness among all categories of people on HIV/AIDS and its related problems with specific attention to children. To revitalize minds of all youth about HIV/AIDS and their families.
To increase collaboration plans with other organizations, bodies or individuals whether national or international but having advocacy strategies for the similar cause as laid herein.
To increase awareness about the acceptable health standards among Youth, the next fathers and care for children suffering from other opportunistic infections. SAFO -Uganda is very much aimed at empowering youth with the basic information communication technology (ICT) skills. This is really very important for the fact that with the growth of the ICT world, it is favorable for youth to be equipped with basic computer knowledge thus competing with other youth from the outside world.
