Volunteer

Our Volunteers work with us on Saturdays the hours are usually 10am - 3pm and the frequency depends on your availability.  We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities that fit any schedule, you may want to be a one time volunteer or volunteer on a monthly basis. Either way, we are happy to work with you and you can volunteer as an individual or volunteer as a group.

On Saturdays the kids come for tutoring from 10am -1pm they are tutored by a team from Footprints Community and our volunteers assist with the tutoring and then the kids are free to play some games or do some activities. The volunteers can plan and implement some activities, games or workshops for the kids while working with the THH staff.

Additionally as a volunteer you can support any of the following programs:

Internships

At THH we offer two different Internship Programs; the Zimbabwe Internship Program (ZIP) is for those who live in Zimbabwe and are able to work on site at THH and/or for those interested in a student work placement/practicum. The Virtual Internship Program (VIP) is for anyone, anywhere who has Internet access and a computer. Our internship programs are a great way to be directly involved and immersed in the vision and mission of THH. Interns part of the ZIP program will be required to work on site in Epworth.

A THH internship is a perfect opportunity for anyone that is looking to work in the NGO sector or gain experience in running a small but effective non-profit organization. We are looking for interns who are interested in assisting us with the running of our organization. We have the knowledge, experience and track record. You will be encouraged to use initiative and take a hands-on approach to your work by setting up new project initiatives and supporting our current programs and projects. If you want to get involved and learn what it takes to run an NGO this is the place for you.

The responsibilities will depend on the individual’s level of experience and the department the intern is working for and the duration of the internship. The internship term length is negotiable. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for enthusiastic self-motivated people because once you are settled in and know what to do you will be expected to manage your time and achieve results with minimal supervision. We will of course always be on hand to offer  assistance and advice but we cannot and do not offer constant supervision. Candidates will need adaptability, patience and a sense of humor.

All interns are expected to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, ethical standards, trust and integrity while representing the organization and in advancing the THH mission. The interns will work in close partnership with the staff and the Senior  Management Team.
