Text & Talk TEFL Academy was a world-class TEFL Course provider in Bangkok, and one of only two TEFL Providers accredited by the Thai Ministry of Education.

Text & Talk TEFL Academy offered a physical in-class TEFL program in Bangkok- which exceeded 120 hours of home-study and in-class training.

Included was at least 10 hours of home-study reading comprehension and at least 10 hours Practice Teaching lessons in Thai Schools, Corporate Training observations and Peer-to-peer Teaching Evaluations.

Our TEFL Program was conducted every month throughout the year.

Our course was designed for those who:

Want to be well prepared for the in-class tuition and have a fundamental understanding of teaching English as a foreign language in Thailand, prior to their arrival.
Want to shorten their study time in Bangkok to a maximum of 3 weeks.
Would prefer to study part of the course at home, at their own pace, leisure and convenience.

The Home-Study Assignments are provided to the TEFL Course Trainees to read and comprehend the overall understanding of Teaching English to non-native students. Therefore, the Home-Study reading-only assignments are provided well in advance (approximately 2 weeks and requires a minimum of 10 hours reading time before the In-Class training starts in Bangkok).

Once enrolled with Text & Talk, students were invited to join our Google Classroom, which contained all of the Home-Study reading-only assignments. No test was required but Trainees were encouraged to read the materials provided and to do research on their own on the PPP TEFL Method.

Great team, excellent course.

I was a bit skeptical when I decided to do my TEFL in Thailand, but I was finally convinced, and that was the beginning of my journey. It turned out to be the best decision ever! The Text & Talk Team came to pick me up from the Airport and took me straight to the accommodation. The team was a fantastic group of people to get to know!

Our CV’s were immediately prepared by the admin team (Zelum & Charles) to find us employment and all the small details such as our TOEIC Tests and Visa applications were taken care of. They were always available to answers our questions, from the best places to purchase IT equipment, stationery and more!

On the first day of class, we were greeted with a nice Orientation Lunch and provided with insight into Thai Culture and other important bits of information related to starting our careers in Thailand.

Our Course Trainers, Ben and Miki were truly excellent. Their hands-on approach to teaching TEFL made me realize the importance of being prepared to teach in a classroom environment. Furthermore, they taught us how to differentiate proficiency levels and how to adapt to various situations. This made me realize that teaching was more of a theatre recital and that acting was part of methodology!

We had a Corporate Teaching Observation and were able to participate in the lesson. This was quite fun, and we were able to understand how Corporate Teaching is conducted and how different it is from teaching in a School.

Our Practice Teachings were held at a Thai Private School. We taught young learners and high school students. I especially enjoyed the young learners classes. Being able to experience different types of class environments helped me decide that teaching young learners was what I preferred.

Overall, the course was very fun and intense. Our goal was to be prepared to teach and teaching is not as easy as most would believe it to be. Time & class management, interacting with the students, being prepared, lesson planning and acting were only some of the skills taught. All these skills, combined, transformed us into very effective and fun Teachers.

I want to thank the team at Text & Talk for all they have done and for providing me with the tools to the beginning of a new chapter in my life, in the Land of Smiles.

The best decision I made for 2019!

In general, I enjoyed this training course so much! The home-study portion introduced me to the basics of the course and while it was quite a lot to take in, it definitely was very informative.

When I arrived at the International Airport, the Text & Talk team were there to pick me up and take me to the apartment. Since I arrived a bit early, I got to relax and experience a bit of Thailand before the first day of the TEFL Course.

The first day was relaxing and we had a great Orientation Lunch together. Following the lunch, we received very useful information about job-hunting and the PPP Methodology. We finished off the day learning about Thai Culture and some Survival Thai.

The trainers and staff at Text & Talk are quite professional and helpful. Some of the skills taught were related to acting, such as body language, voice projection and eye contact. I never thought these skills would be needed in a classroom but when I was shown why and how it was beneficial to the students, I was determined to master those skills. I learned how to act out body language properly – something I would not have noticed if I had not taken this course. Other skills taught that were very useful for me were class control and management, time management and many more!

I really enjoyed and valued the dry-runs/peer evaluations and that is one of the main reasons why I prefer
in-class training over online courses. You just cannot get the same results without physically experiencing them in person.

We were then taken on a Corporate Observation Trip to see how teaching in conducted in a corporate environment. This was very fun as the staff loved making jokes, interacting and I got to chat with all of them!

After that, we were ready for our Practice Teachings at a Thai School. We had groups of young learners and also high school students. I enjoyed both groups and found the whole experience very enlightening. I got to see and understand my weaknesses in different classes, and I would adjust accordingly to make sure that once I ended the lesson, the students would go home and have learned something.

The course was wonderful, from the Trainers to the Admin team. They were all supportive and guided us towards our goals. I also made new friends who I will not forget.

This TEFL Course definitely fulfilled my needs and goals that I set before coming here.

Stumbling across Text And Talk was rather serendipitous

I was looking for a TEFL school while getting into Bangkok the day before Songkran. I called school after school and all were either booked or unsympathetic to my circumstances. The second day I was in Bangkok I got a call from the TEFL Course Director, Ben and he provided me with the services I so desperately needed. He listened to my circumstances and accommodated them. In terms of the class, Ben, Miki, and Charles all took very good care of me. Their instruction and genuine care for my success allowed me to accomplish what I needed to in the course. Charles was especially helpful as he gave professional advice on the spot and when it was needed. Text and Talk enabled me to see that teaching in Asia was the right choice for me and they provided me with a fertile environment that allowed my passion for teaching to grow. I recommend Text and Talk to anybody wanting to get a TEFL. The class will prepare you beyond your expectations and you will be accommodated based on your individual needs. The price was also reasonable and I would say that you get more than what you pay for.

Aced My First Job Interview

Before enrolling in the Text and Talk TEFL course I did quite a lot of online research, but with that kind of research, you still don’t know exactly what you are getting, until you are here in Thailand. What I needed was a process for teaching English with which I could be confident at any level. I also wanted the support to find a job after the course was complete and guidance on my work permit and visa. I am happy to report that the folks at Text and Talk delivered on that and so much more. The course was certainly challenging, but by the end you are clearly a qualified English teacher. As part of the course we had at least seven opportunities to teach real English classes from second grade up through university students and corporate clients as well. When I applied for my first teaching job, which was brought to me by the folks at Text and Talk, I had lessons plans ready to go as well as video tape of me teaching at a local University. Without the course I clearly would not have had a clue how to ace the interview. If you want to teach English here in Thailand, I wouldn't even try without first doing Text and Talk’s TEFL course.

Amazing course and exceptional team

At first, I was not sure how things would turn out since I was moving and starting a new life in a foreign country, and that is a big decision. My initial contact with Text & Talk Academy consisted of asking as many questions as possible, so I would know what I was getting into. Communication from the team was clear, prompt, and personalized, so I knew I was talking to a person and every bit of information was presented in a clear and concise manner. The course was very detailed. Initially, I thought it would really be easy to do the course, however, in my first few days I found out it was not nearly as I thought it would have been!

The course materials were very thorough and detailed, the assignments that we were assigned to us really helped going through the work. You will need to really study the theories and concepts in the modules.

The support and help we got from the Text & Talk team was really professional. From our questions about the course to recommended places to exploring Bangkok, the team were always there to help us.

I really think that we could not have chosen a better Academy to do the TEFL course.

The Text & Talk team organized everything, from accommodation, the usage of apps to make your life easier in Bangkok, and what we should and should not do in Thailand. They even organized our TOEIC Tests ahead of time. Basically, everything was streamlined and prepared ahead of our arrival in Thailand, and that allowed us to focus, more, on the TEFL Course and less on the logistics.

In the end, after an intense, but yet, such a wonderful experience and such a great learning experience, I am super grateful that I chose Text & Talk as the Academy where I wanted to do my TEFL course.

There were moments, at the Academy, where they absolutely surprised me, such as when they handed our certificates over at the graduation. They looked very professional and similar to what you would get when receiving a master’s degree. Another great surprise, which brought me to tears, was a special compilation video they made of our class (from Day 1 to Graduation), and that really touched my heart. The video made me realize that I did not just meet new people and made new memories, instead, I realized that I had gained a great family.

I will always keep the team in my heart and whenever I search for comfort or just want to talk, I’ll always go to Text & Talk Academy!
