Our programme makes a real difference
- A young person who has participated in The Access Project’s programme is more than twice as likely to go to a top university than another student with the same academic track record and background
- Our students achieved half a grade more progress in their tutored subject at GCSE than classmates in their school

Why Volunteer?
Our volunteer tutors are at the heart of everything we do at The Access Project. The weekly sessions you will have with a student will not only raise their grades but improve their confidence and encourage their aspirations.
You can make a real difference – a young person on our programme is more than twice as likely to go to a top university than another student with the same academic track record and background.
At the same time you’ll be developing your own communication, coaching and planning skills and getting real job satisfaction. Our volunteers often say tutoring is the most rewarding hour of their week.
You don’t need any teaching experience. You’ll attend a three-hour training session before you begin volunteering and you’ll receive ongoing support with lesson planning, topic guidance and resources from our team.
