You will be responsible for one of our 'tribes' of 10-15 children at one of our camps, ensuring that our high level of pastoral care is maintained and safeguarding their Health and Safety throughout their trip with us. You will be looking after your tribe through the many activities they will be doing during their stay with us, giving the children that attend a positive memory that will last them for the rest of their lives. Activities range from wild swimming, archery and target sports to traditional bushcraft skills like fire lighting and shelter building.
This is one of our most important roles, and nearly everyone in the current bushcraft team has worked in this role. Our Tribe Leaders are key to The Bushcraft Company, providing the best care and instruction in our industry. No previous experience is required, as all applicants will complete in-house training and our mentoring scheme before working on one of our camps. However, you do need plenty of enthusiasm and a sense of fun.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment background checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed.
