The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust is now housed in a £27 million building which opened in 2008, with state-of-the-art technologies across all departments. The school is equipped with SMART digital screens in every classroom, one of the first schools in the country to embrace such technologies. Our creative approaches to learning have been recognised and documented by ITN news.
We also have a dance studio, two gyms, recording studio, lecture theatre and astro-turf pitches. We are extremely proud of our sporting excellence, and have developed elite rugby union and netball academies throughout the school who have competed on a national level, beating many of the top private schools and winning the Yorkshire cup on several occasions. We now take 10% of our Year 7 entry based on sporting aptitude.
The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust has since achieved the accolade of the most improved school in the North of England, while the current Progress 8 scores for 2016 place it at the top of the league tables. Consequently, we were asked to share our success, and start our multi-academy trust (MAT).
The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust (MAT) was established in 2014, and is a developing MAT in the Yorkshire region. We transform under-performing schools, giving them access to policies and strategies that have been successful for our students. These are led by credible leaders with a track record in school improvement.
The Rodillian MAT has its roots in West Yorkshire and is committed to a local approach. Unlike some other large academy chains, we believe in bespoke solutions for individual schools, with school improvement work being focused on a true understanding of the community the school serves, and the community itself. To enable this close working practice, all of the schools within the Rodillian MAT are within a reasonable travelling distance, ensuring that there can be close contact, and a personalised approach to leadership and school development.
While developing the unique and individual identity of each school is of paramount importance, the Trust equally believes in assimilated methodology to drive forward standards in its partner schools, helping to improve the life chances for more local children. The “Rodillian Ethos” is underpinned by common values – a traditional approach to behaviour management, innovative curriculum design and excellence in teaching to deliver best possible outcomes.
At the heart of the Trust’s work is a concentration on delivering high academic standards, resilient young people who are self-confident and have developed mastery of their chosen area, a focus on developing a Mindset for Growth among both students and staff to support our aspirations, and an unsurpassed drive for outstanding outcomes.
