All the glam. Much sparkle. Sure Sydney has a lot to offer, but get out of the urban jungle and discover the other side to this glorious harbour city. Visit areas around Sydney you wouldn’t otherwise reach, take in a natural wonder or two and get your clink on in the vineyards of the Hunter Valley. Then we’ll bring you back to the bright lights for one more glimpse of that famous bridge and opera house.
Itinerary
Day 1-2: Sydney to Port Stephens
Port Stephens is practically horizontal, it's so laid back. You could take it easy today on an optional dolphin cruise with a swim and boomnet ride. Feeling more energetic? You could hike to the top of Tomaree Head for sensational views, or for exploring further there are options for sand dune quad biking and sand boarding. Whatever you do you'll work up an appetite. Thankfully this place is known for its seafood, so we'll have a taste of the local catch.
Day 3: Port Stephens to Hunter Valley
Hunter Valley is synonymous with wine. Visit a local vineyard, a brewery, and a chocolate tasting. You'll get to hop in an oak barrel and have a go at grape stomping, then take a walk through the vines and into the Hunter Wine Theatre to learn about the grape's journey from vine to bottle. Round off the day with a glass of something in hand as you overlook the rolling vine striped hills of the area.
Day 4: Hunter Valley to Blue Mountains
Glenbrook might be small but it's big on good coffee. We'll stop off here before heading up to the Blue Mountains. Follow in the footsteps of Charles Darwin and head towards the magical Wentworth Falls, check out the huge drop waterfall of Govetts Leap, Narrow Neck lookout, and Katoomba Falls, before seeing the '3 Sisters' at sunset.
Day 5: Blue Mountains to Sydney
Sure the Blue Mountains are gorgeous to just gawp at, but there a whole load of activities on offer to try too. Optional abseiling take your fancy? Or if you're more of a speed fiend you could opt for a local Harley Davidson ride. Slower-paced options include the Scenic World Cable Car and walk in the rainforest. In fact there are lots of walks close by that you can pick from. Say goodbye to the Blue Mountains mid-afternoon, we'll be tracking back to Sydney.
