To holiday in Britain is to witness a rivalry of the ages. It isn't just Shakespeare vs Robbie Burns, fish 'n' chips vs haggis and 'neeps', or Roger Moore vs Sean Connery. It’s also the cosmopolitan grandeur of London up against the princely historic streets of Edinburgh, or the quaint rural English villages vying with the stunning wilderness of the Scottish Highlands. After experiencing all this and more on this unforgettable holiday in Britain, you'll be left to decide just which side of Hadrian's Wall you're on!

Itinerary

Day 1: London to York, England
From the buzz of London to the medieval walled city of York. With a real historic feel, this quaint town has a stunning Gothic cathedral, narrow streets and wooden-beamed houses. In the evening, we get to know each other over a welcome dinner in the city.

Day 2: York to Edinburgh, Scotland
Spread your wings and take a selfie under the Angel of the North before we hit Hadrian's Wall. Then get your daily dose of Gothic architecture at Alnwick Castle and hit up Edinburgh tonight for a local pub feast (think: haggis, real ale and malts).

Day 3: Edinburgh
Tick off the greats on a morning walking tour of the Scottish capital. Cue medieval vibes at the Castle, Princes Street and the Royal Mile. Then kick your heels up, Scottish style, for an optional highland fling.

Day 4: Edinburgh
Spend the day chasing the Loch Ness monster on an optional trip to the notorious lake. Or stick around to explore. Hit up Port of Leith for a funky, contemporary Edinburgh. Chase it all down with the Grassmarket for a serve of Scottish kitsch-but-cool.

Day 5: Edinburgh to Glasgow
Get oriented in Scotland's Brooklyn on a walking tour before exploring Glasgow on your own. Merchant City's got that sophisticated cool. Ashton Lane is ruggedly cool in that student budget kind of way. Fill up on something hearty before the afternoon's distillery tour (optional). Wouldn't want an empty stomach keeping you from tasting the Scottish water of life (read: whisky). Tonight: hunt down the best battered Mars bar for a taste of a true local delicacy.

Day 6: Glasgow
Our trip may end after breakfast but Glasgow awaits. Stick around to see if that Tikka Masala thing really is true.
