The University of Raparin, located in Ranya, with its qualified academic staff, selected students, and modern facilities is one of the newly established Universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Location:

Ranya is a mountain town on the Iran/Iraq border. In the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, there is an autonomous government and high levels of security. Ranya is known for its surrounding mountains, Lake Dukan, archaeological sites and hospitable people. 

 

Positions:

We are currently recruiting a number of positions for the next academic year which starts on August 15. 

1. Five (5) ESL Instructors

ESL Instructors will be responsible for delivering a fundamental English course to undergraduates and conduct various assessment types throughout the year. We expect teachers to utilize the materials provided as a framework but create a fun and communicative learning environment. Academic courses will also be taught to our staff to help improve their key English skills. 

2. One (1) lecturer in Molecular Biology

3. One (1) lecturer in nursing (psychiatric, maternity or pediatric)

4. One (1) lecturer in Structural Engineering

5. One (1) lecturer in Education (adult learning) 

 

Qualifications:

1. Applicants should hold an MA or PhD and have a minimum of two years experience. Experience working in the Middle-East or surrounding regions highly valued. 

2. Lecturers must submit 3 research papers a year. They should be published in journals indexed in Thomson Reuter and Scopus. Extra papers deserve bonus and awards. Ranges of awards are according to quartile as following: 

Q1: ‎2500000 IQD
Q2: ‎2000000 IQD        
Q3: ‎1500000 IQD      
Q4:‎1000000 IQD

  • Assistant Lecturer: 1,650,000 IQD
