Many physically disabled people in the UK have complicated medical and care requirements that can make taking even a short break incredibly difficult and costly to arrange. Thousands of the UK’s six million carers struggle to take a break when the disabled person they care for can’t take one.
Vitalise makes a difference. We provide accessible respite care and short breaks for disabled people and carers at our residential Centres in Southport, Essex and Southampton. Established in 1963 as the Winged Fellowship Trust, we've been providing accessible breaks in a friendly holiday atmosphere for over 50 years!
Vitalise offers:
- An alternative to traditional respite care in a friendly and relaxed holiday environment
- Hassle-free accessible respite care and short breaks
- Real freedom and choice, for disabled people and carers alike.
Our mission is to promote, provide and deliver high standards of inclusive, short and medium term services for disabled people and carers. At Vitalise we believe that physical disability shouldn't be a barrier to a much-needed break!
A Vitalise break gives disabled people the freedom to spend their time how they like; whether they choose to relax, socialise, enjoy our fantastic excursions or take part in the many activities on offer at the centres every week. Our breaks also allow carers to take much-needed time off from the 24-hour a day role of caring. With Vitalise, they can look after themselves for a change, safe in the knowledge that their loved ones are enjoying themselves in our very capable hands.
We also run the largest residential volunteer programme of any UK charity, welcoming around 2000 volunteers across our centres each year. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and form a crucial part of the Vitalise team, ensuring our guests have a special holiday experience.
