Make a valuable contribution to a fantastic local project as part of a mixed group of D/deaf, hearing and hard-of-hearing people.

Experienced BSL Interpreters and Trip Leaders from the UK accompany every trip. They ensure smooth communication and good support throughout the trip.

All volunteers are deaf aware.

Join as an individual, with friends or family, or as a group. Meet us at a pre-trip meeting where we explain your itinerary, answer your questions and you can meet other volunteers.

What will you do?

Our trips combine practical hands-on work at a local deaf school in the mornings, with various activities and trips to incredible sights in the afternoon and weekend.

For example, your work at the deaf school could include renovating a school dormitory or playground, painting murals on the outside of school buildings or redecorating a school classroom. You don't need any previous experience - we will provide all materials and show you what to do.

Afternoons are spent doing fun games & activities with local D/deaf students, learning how to cook local food, learning local sign language, visiting ancient Buddhist or Hindu temples, exploring the markets, beaches and so on.

During the weekend you will either help on a turtle conservation project and visit an elephant orhanage in Sri Lanka, walk in the Himalayas in Nepal or visit a national park and stilt village in Ghana. All this is included!

Who joins our trips?

D/deaf, hard-of-hearing and hearing people who might be TOD's, CSW's, people learning BSL or studying Deaf Studies or Audiology.
