What will you do?
Your mornings will normally be spent helping with practical renovation work at a poor local deaf school in either Kathmandu or Pokhara.
Work includes painting classrooms, dormitories and playgrounds which greatly improves the lives of local D/deaf students.
You don't need any previous experience, work is allocated according to volunteers' preferences and skills and we provide all materials and guidance.
Your afternoons will normally be spent doing a mix of activities including:
- Educational games & fun activities with local D/deaf students
- Visits to ancient Buddhist & Hindu temples
- Nepali sign language class
- Cooking class (learn how to make tasty local food!)
- Explore markets - learn about local fruits and vegetables
- Hike up the hills to see views of the Himalayan mountains
And at the weekend you will:
Travel further afield, and either visit Chitwan National Park to see wild Rhinos and Elephants or go hiking in the mountains.
We fit a huge amount into your trip (and this is all included - no nasty surprises after arriving!) but it's all carefully planned so nothing ever feels rushed and you always have time to relax and ask our friendly staff all about the various places we visit.
