The emphasis throughout is on helping the children and young adults attending the NGO center with physical and mental exercises. The ages you will work with are between 5 years to 45 years –both Boys and Girls. There are varying degrees of physical and mental disabilities- there are children with downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, and many with physical disabilities.
Your role will be to assist the special needs teachers in the work that they do as well as helping them to organize arts, sports and conducting and being in charge of certain projects that you can start. There is also a vocational unit where they make candles, paper bags and other such items. It is a very rewarding and fulfilling experience to spend time with these children and helping them and the NGO staff.
On the weekend you will get free time to relax and we will include a trip to the tea plantations and a weekend away on the backwaters.
