Having spent more than a decade successfully establishing and growing a leading international volunteer organization, intrepid Kiwi travelers and entrepreneurs Kelly Phillips and Mike Brackenridge had witnessed first-hand the rapid expansion of the volunteer abroad sector. Sadly however, they had also come to the realization that the volunteer industry had become something that they were no longer proud to be a part of.
Sensing it was time for a drastic change and encouraged by the increasing desire of young travelers to utilize travel abroad as an opportunity for personal growth, the pair decided it was time to focus instead on providing short-term, high-impact tours that were primarily education-focused - Learning Tours.
With a continuing desire to provide truly meaningful travel experiences to the young and the young at heart, Kelly and Mike began to channel their passion and knowledge of the gap-travel industry into creating highly educational tours and trips with a solid focus on experiential learning and personal growth.
