Be our guest on this magical journey to France! If your need to be wined and dined has gone unattended for too long, then THIS is the tour for you.

Start the tour by getting a Taste of Normandy with Sunday Night Supper featuring a cheeseboard accompanied by delicious sides, wine, and organic cider.

Spend your first full day in the scenic medieval town of Bricquebec sampling the local cuisine, followed by the first cookery session. Then… visit Le Père Mahieu Ciderie- home of some of Normandy’s best organic apples.

The next day, dive into an intensive cookery session and learn the art of Cocktail Dinatoire- the latest French food fad that involves wine and plenty of finger food! If finger food isn’t quite your style, then enjoy a food preparation session in the boulangerie, using a classic French bread oven to make a full three course meal.

Explore Normandy on Day 4 with our experienced tour guide, making memories as you witness the breathtaking rugged coastlines, historical sites, museums, gardens, beaches, and more.

THEN: Go back in time and into the wonder of Mont Saint Michel - an 8th century monastery and former prison sitting atop an awe-inspiring rocky outcrop.

After this unforgettable trip, spend one more day learning the famous French cooking methods before taking a shopping visit to La Maison du Biscuit and enjoying free time in the evening.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day

Sunday afternoon arrival. Time to relax a little and explore your new surroundings.
A first taste of Normandy follows for Sunday night supper in the form of a Norman cheeseboard with salad, crusty bread, pastries, and wine or some locally produced organic cider (or juice). While you enjoy your food you’ll also meet the rest of the group – a perfect introduction to the cookery course.

Day 2: Market Day & Cooking Class #1

8.00 am Continental Breakfast of croissants, bread, cakes, homemade jams and jellies, artisan apple juice, cereals, fruit and yogurt
9.00 am Off to Bricquebec, a beautiful medieval town, for the weekly market where we’ll absorb the ambiance, pick up some fresh produce for our lunch and sample whatever we’re offered before our first cookery session.
Cookery Class #1 followed by an after-class leisurely lunch
12.30 pm Lunch
3.30 pm Visit to Le Père Mahieu Ciderie where the best of Normandy’s organic apples are transformed into the most delicious drinks in the forms of cider, pommeau, calvados and apple juice. After a guided tour of the distillery and a walk up to the orchards (weather permitting) we sample the various ciders, calvados, pommeau and apple juice.
Evening free – restaurant recommendations and reservations are made for you where necessary.

Day 3: Cooking Class #2

9.00 am Continental Breakfast
Cookery Class #1: Cocktail Dinatoire - pâtisserie class morning, lunch (in a local restaurant) savory classic the afternoon and evening apéritif dinatoire - wine and lots of finger food mostly - very ‘in’ here in France at the moment and much less formal than a sit-down meal. Or...
Baking in the boulangerie - food prep - lighting and using the bread oven as was done in the past leisurely lunch - starter, main, dessert etc

Day 4: Free-Time

9.00am Continental breakfast

Sinéad will share her extensive knowledge of the area ensuring that your trip to Normandy is a truly memorable one. Explore at your ease, armed with maps, ideas and restaurant reservations.

Day 5: Mont St Michel!

Today you will be guided on a full-day mini-tour to visit the magical Mont Saint Michel - an 8th century monastery and former prison sitting atop an awe-inspiring rocky outcrop. Complete with picnic in the monastery grounds overlooking the island, this will be a day to remember!
