A Guide to Teaching English in Iceland
Most of the population learn to speak English as children learn at school and there are though some opportunities to teach English at language centers and schools in places like Reykavic. Salaries for teaching in Iceland (like most jobs) are high especially compared to other European countries.
It is more difficult to live and teach here as a foreigner compared to other destinations though as Iceland only has a small population of around 300,000 people. A lot of schools and universities in Iceland also provide lessons in English and there is English speaking television shows which makes it more of a challenge for international TEFL teachers to find work here. It is still possible though.
